OPEN CALL 2025: Sound art/composition residency opportunitues in Druskininkai, Lithuania and Hållnäs, Sweden

Region Uppsala and Hållnäs konstkoloni continue our collaboration with DAR in Druskininkai, Lithuania, run by Lithuanian Composers’ Union. Togehter, we offer two residency opportunities for composers and sound artists based in Sweden and Lithuania:

Residency in Lithuania – artists based in Sweden can apply (before 7th March 2025 PM 23:59) :

The duration of the Lithuanian residency is 14 days, September  13-27, and takes place in the picturesque resort town of Druskininkai, Lithuania. Artist-in-Residence (AiR) will receive a €350 one-time scholarship and covered travel expenses (up to €350). The artist is expected to present their work at the end of the stay.

Druskininkai is a resort town in southern Lithuania, surrounded by forests, lakes and parks, about 130 km south of Vilnius. Please see artdruskininkai.lt/en/guesthouse/ for more information about living and studio space.

Residency in Hållnäs, Sweden – artists based in Lithuania can apply (before 7th March PM 23:59)

The duration of this residency is 14 days, Aug 4th – 18th 2025 and takes place in Hållnäs, a beautiful rural area with a long, untouched rocky coastline, quiet old villages and good trails and roads for walking and cycling. The selected artist will receive a grant of 350€, as well as a travel allowance of up to 350€, free accommodation and studio space. The aim of the residency  is the artist getting the time and space to focus on an existing, or a new, piece of work. The artist is expected to take part in a community art event, more information of this in the open call.
